everis Ingeniería and everis Peru have joined together on a common project to supply and install intensive Aquaculture Recirculation Systems (RAS) in the Centre for Aquaculture Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITE) in Ahuashiyacu, located in the Peruvian region of San Martín. This facility, belonging to Peru’s Institute of Production (ITP), is part of the government’s initiative for developing the aquaculture production chain in the region.
The work includes the installation of 14 RAS systems for producing Amazonian species such as paiche (Arapaima gigas), gamitana (Colossoma macropomum), paco (Colossoma paco) and tilapia (Oreochromis sp.). The plant will also be equipped with facilities for live food production (algae, rotifers, copepods and artemia).
This technology enables breeders of Amazonian species to increase production on land with minimal water consumption and impact on the environment. The Aquaculture Recirculation Systems also enable production planning and complete control of all parameters, so that the fish can thrive with biological safety guarantees and optimal growth rates.
The Ahuashiyacu Aquaculture CITE is the main aquaculture research and extension centre in Peru. Its purpose is to support technological transfer, training and technical assistance to the aquaculture business units for adopting new technologies in order to increase their competitiveness, innovation capacity and product development.
