Contract for energy services in the Momo Sports Club gym La Dehesa
This project has been focused on the optimization of energy consumption and the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere of the Momo Sports Club La Dehesa (Alcalá de Henares), where existing energy supply equipment has been replaced by others that provide the necessary thermal energy for the operation of the sports centre and the pool temperature control.
At the same time, and taking advantage of the installed inertial deposits (total capacity of 8 m3) for the preparation and accumulation of Sanitary Hot Water (SHW), the water supply system of the air heaters that control the pool area temperature have been renewed.
In order to successfully achieve the project’s objectives, the three diesel boilers have been replaced by a single biomass (pellet) installation of 350 kW. These are 10% more efficient than diesel petrol and their fuel is significantly cheaper (using the € / kWh ratio), in addition to being considered as zero carbon installations. With the intervention of exeleria, commercial name of the energy area of everis Ingeniería, the emission of 130 TCO2/year has been avoided, contributing in this way to the reduction of global warming.
As additional actions, new SHW tanks have been installed, all the hydraulics of the boiler room have been renewed, a 40 m3 capacity silo has been built, and a remote management system has been provided for the thermal power plant.
At the economic level, the project has been developed under the scheme of Energy Services Company (ESC), energy sales model. A 10-year contract has been signed with the client, according to which exeleria will make the necessary investments for the transformation of the room, assumes the client risk, is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the facilities and provides a total guarantee of the installed equipment. In return, exeleria perceives a defined price of the thermal kWh actually supplied, which can be updated annually according to the biomass price indexes. At the end of the contract the fully operational facilities, with 15 years of useful life ahead will be given to the client.
