Climate Change
innovation for a sustainable transformation
The Paris agreement offers an opportunity for countries to strengthen their response to the threat of climate change and to succeed in maintaining the goal of an annual global temperature increase below 2ºC.
In everis Ingeniería, we provide our customers with innovative solutions so they can develop an economic activity that is low carbon, sustainable and more respectful of the environment.
Our technical team has wide experience in design and development of politics and climate financing, corporate strategies, actions, plans and projects of mitigation and climate change adaptation.
We are specialists in the design and development of low carbon corporate strategies. Through calculation of the Corporate Carbon print, we help our clients to make a diagnosis of the emissions derived from the existing consumptions in their process map, which is the first step to develop a successful climate strategy. Based on the information gathered, we design reduction and emission compensation plans with the aim of optimizing the efficiency of the productive processes to the maximum and we manage the inclusion of the companies in the Carbon Footprint Registry, Compensation and Absorption projects of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition.
Reducing the carbon print leads to reducing its costs. Through the same we define an internal carbon pricing for each organization that serves to manage the risks of future investments, encouraging the incorporation of clean technologies and inculcating, in turn, a culture of sustainability in the organization.
Besides adding all of our knowledge and experience in climate change and sustainability matter, in everis Ingeniería, we put at our clients’ service all the experience of the everis Group in the development of technological applications adapted to the corporate management of the climate change (Blockchain, IoT, Digital transformation).
Low carbon corporate strategies services:
The Paris Agreement requires States that have ratified it to submit their National Determined Contribution (NDC) every five years. In their NDCs, all countries must state the actions that they are carrying out and the ones they are planning to develop to mitigate climate change and adapt to it. In addition, all States must publish their national GHG inventories and provide the necessary information to assess progress in the implementation of their contributions.
At everis Ingeniería, we place at the service of the Governments, our experience and knowledge for the drafting of their National Determined Contributions, as well as our advisory services to implement low carbon programs and projects associated with the fulfillment of the objectives set in the same. In the same way, our team is at the service of the National Authorities for the elaboration of National Greenhouse Gases Inventories. We put at the service of the Governments state-of-the-art technological tools that can help them fulfill their commitments.
everis advises companies and governments on low carbon investments and the deployment of financing for mitigation and adaptation. We help our clients to submit proposals in Concept Note format for the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and governments to submit their NAMA Support Project Outlines to request funding for the NAMA Facility.
At the local level, within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors, we work in the drafting of Action Plans for the Weather and Sustainable Energy (APWSE), making Reference Emissions Inventories, risk evaluations and climate vulnerabilities for municipalities of several Spanish regions.
Services, Politics and Climate Funding:
We advise project developers and emission reduction programs on existing carbon market options as well as new mechanisms being developed in accordance with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Our team includes experts in a wide variety of sectors including: renewable energy, energy efficiency, transportation, waste management and forestry / REDD+, and has extensive experience in registration and verification of projects and programs under the following international standards:
The Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) are climate action instruments developed under the climate negotiations of the UNFCCC in Bali in 2007 (COP13). It is therefore sectoral initiatives developed by the governments of developing countries in a context of sustainable growth. The NAMAs, which must be aligned with the national regulatory framework, bring together public and private proponents and their objective is to expand the most interesting mitigation actions environmentally and economically at a national level. The results of these mitigation actions must be evaluated through integrated monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) systems.
Our team has participated in the drafting of several NAMAs, as well as in the design of measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) methodologies and the elaboration of standardised base lines of the same.
At national level, the C ProjectsLIMA from the Carbon Fund for a Sustainable Economy (FES-CO2) are emissions reduction plans developed in sectors of transport, agriculture, residential, waste and energy efficiency, known as diffuse sectors -not subject to the European emission trading schemes. At everis Ingeniería, we advise Spanish promoters for the registration and verification of CLIMA projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment.
Climate Change Mitigation Services:
Current scientific data indicate that in the medium/long term our cities, infrastructures and even production systems will be affected by the effects of climate change. Phenomena such as prolonged droughts, coastal and fluvial floods, increased forest fires or landslides pose a real threat that can have a high economic, environmental and social cost.
In everis Ingeniería, we provide our experience and means to help public and private clients adapt to the effects of climate change through the identification of risks, their evaluation and the elaboration of technical and design proposals that mitigate these effects and increase the capacity of resilience of infrastructures and projects.
